Marcel Gatteaux

Marcel Gatteaux was born in London in 1962. He started drawing and painting at an early age. Following studies at Camberwell Art School, and whilst still continuing to paint, he undertook a long apprenticeship to become a picture-restorer, graduating in 1986.

He lives in London and travels frequently to Europe, particularly to Southern France, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean colour, heat and light.

Marcel started exhibiting his work in 1987, and since then has had nine solo exhibitions at the Caelt Gallery in Notting Hill. His oil paintings of Provence, Greece, Venice and Marrakech have attracted strong support.
